YES and then NO I am a mother of a Sr in High School and found that most colleges and universities are USING HS sports to benefit their images. Kids are getting into colleges and universities because they can play a sport BUT have no academic abilities. These kids are NOT going pro and after their 4 years will go where?????? Kids are being deferred from these colleges etc with great work ethics and grades and who have worked long and hard to get into a good school and then are bumped because they want the sports kid. AND you are right about the parents who coach or who are on the side lines….teach them to be teaching the sport NOT WINNING IS EVERYTHING and WINNING AT ANY COST! My husband and I have coached many youth teams and we taught skills, team work, play for fun, how to win and loose with grace and work hard at everything you do.
BUT the money is winning here, WHAT IF THE OWNERS and the players got paid LESS and took away all the issues of people that do not use these monies positively anyways. WHY is this necessary anyways. It is just GREED and then we see what happens…..more bad than good. OH well can go on and on here
