Joe Heskett, BA, MS

President & Founder

“The Heart Guy”

Joe Heskett In 2007, only five days after competing and placing 5th at the World Championships, Joe was forced to retire as the #1 ranked wrestler on the United States Olympic Ladder with a World ranking of 3.  At the age of 29 Joe was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition that nearly took his life.  Joe had endured a committed life of extreme physical and mental preparation to be the best wrestler in the World.

Strengthened by faith, family and education Joe transferred his passion and Olympic aspirations to another deep rooted passion, the development of our youth through sport.

Joe attended Iowa State University and was a 4x NCAA All-American, 3x NCAA finalist and NCAA Champion.  Heskett ended his career never placing lower than 3rd at the NCAA tournament (that was his freshman year and he entered the tournament with a 32-0 record).  Joe ended his collegiate career with 143-9 record.

Internationally, Heskett was a 5xU.S. National Team Member (top 3 in the United States) a 2x University National Champion and a U.S. Open Champion. He placed 5th in his last competition ever at the 2007 World Championship which were held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Heskett made the World Championship semi finals and lost a heart-breaker in the final seconds to a 2x World Champion from Russia.

Joe earned his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in Speech Communications.  He was a 4x Academic All American. Heskett then pursued his Masters degree at Cal Poly where he graduated with honors in Educational Leadership.
